Health, Social Services & Family Assistance

Queen Anne’s County Area Agency on Aging – The Area Agency on Aging offers in-home services, Medicaid waivers, an assisted living program, senior care, as well as information and assistance.  The Agency also operates the local Senior Centers .

Queen Anne’s County Department of Health The Queen Anne’s County Department of Health is dedicated to protecting and promoting the health of its citizens through quality services.

Queen Anne’s County Department of Social Services – The Department of Social Services offers a host of services including: emergency assistance to families with children, food stamps, transitional medical and housing assistance, and temporary cash assistance.

Queen Anne’s County Housing Authority – The Queen Anne’s County Housing Authority provides a broad range of housing related services to assist residents of the County to acquire and maintain decent, safe, and affordable housing.

Chesapeake HELPS! – Chesapeake HELPS! Serves as the gateway to services with resource and referral information available to all residents of the mid-shore area.

Community Partnerships for Children and Families – The Community Partnerships for Children and Families promotes a safe, healthy, and stable environment for all children and families in Queen Anne’s County.

County Ride – County Ride is the public transit system for Queen Anne’s County.

Crossroads Community, Inc. – Crossroads Communities offers a full range of services for people with developmental disabilities.

Midshore Intergroup – Midshore Intergroup provides monthly meeting directories for Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties.

Our Haven Shelter – Our Haven Shelter is a temporary winter shelter serving Queen Anne’s County and surrounding areas.  The shelter is open from December through April.  Haven Ministries also holds an emergency food pantry on the third Saturday of every month (except for November).

Public Education

Chesapeake College – Located in Wye Mills, MD, Chesapeake College is a community college serving Caroline, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot Counties.
